Reputation and Crisis Management
When
you need a communications advocate I solve problems. I am a communications professional in areas where creativity and complexity intersect, usually in the most crucial area of communications: Reputation Management. One of my clients calls me her "Fixer," because I take messy situations or challenging assignments and make things right. I do this through creative communications, crisis management, litigation PR, public relations, long-term project support, and outsourced management consulting in areas where creativity and complexity intersect. Usually when people call on me, they have a high-stakes situation that requires innovative ideas, solid financial acumen, sensitivity to budgets, and deep experience in dealing with extremely technical or legalistic communications. I can work with teams of engineers, attorneys and lawyers, top executives, and other communications professionals to steer an organization through challenging situations from bankruptcies to lawsuits and litigation to product recalls and other areas where the organization’s reputation is on the line. Sometimes you want to get your story into the news, to set the record straight. Other times you need to keep out of the news due to pending litigation, confidentiality agreements, or the need for an announcement to be made only on YOUR timetable. I can serve as a consultant, a contract support member of your team, or as a trainer. I specialize in nonprofit, foundation, medical, technical and legal work.

Here is a favorite compliment ever received from a client: Diligence. I was pleased because that is exactly how I try to add value for clients. I may be creative, but so are others. I may be talented, but so are others. But I will not let anyone outdo me in the "diligence" department! Because in today's PR world, getting things done independently, overcoming obstacles, solving problems, seeing opportunities, tending to the details, and pushing things through to completion -- these are the traits that separate "excellent" from "good." So when you think of what I offer you, the "intangible" that can't be taught or bought, think "diligence."
